TERENCE CRAWFORD WINS BY UD OVER ISRAEL MANDRIMOV IN A CLOSE FIGHT
By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sun, 04 Aug 2024

Terence 'Bud' Crawford passed through the eye of needle before edging out Israel 'The Dream' Madrimov of Uzbekistan winning by close decision to notch his world title in the 4th division at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, CA Saturday night (Sunday in Manila).
Judges scores: Benoit Roussel 115-113, Fernando Villarreal 116-112 and Steve Weisfeld 115-113 all in favor of Crawford.
Crawford held the WBO lightweight title, became the undisputed super lightweight title, became the undisputed welterweight title and now has captured the WBA and WBO super welterweight title.
Accomplished amateur fighter Madrimov was a revelation as he fought the acknowledged best pound for pound fighter of the planet, and with only 11 professional fights before facing Crawford, came too close to beating Crawford in front of a sellout crowd in Los Angeles.
Crawford, who had been a menace to all his opponents in the last 10 years, failed to dominate Madrimov whose fighting style of perpetual motion atop the ring seemed to present a puzzle that he could not solve. Had Crawford failed to win the last round, the fight could have ended up the draw.
Crawford has improved to 41-0 with 31 KOs but his 11 fight KO streak since 2016 was brought to a halt by the buzzsaw Madrimov who sustained the first loss of his career and dropped to 10-1-1 with seven stoppages.
