Australian super flyweight champion Brian Agina, an undefeated boxer from Victoria, Australia, is keen to challenge the Philippines' world-rated boxer Jayr Raquinel, who holds WBC #6 and IBF #12 super flyweight world rankings.
"I think this would be a very good fight if we can put it together with world-rated Jayr Raquinel and undefeated Brian Agina, as we have plans to get Agina a WBC Australasian title. Jayr Raquinel would be a great match as I saw his last fight in Bangkok at the Spaceplus venue on Brico Santig's promotion," said promoter Peter Maniatis.
"Agina, who was a Commonwealth Games representative and has also defeated Alex Winwood in the amateurs, is a high-level undefeated boxer. I am confident in his abilities," said Hall of Fame Australian promoter Peter Maniatis.
"Agina also has a very good team behind him, with trainer Chris Folima, co-manager Ricky Leonard, and sponsor & employer Ben Turner-Dwyer from Warrnambool Auto Group—all part of a strong support team for Agina."
"We propose to host the fight in Warrnambool, Victoria. The whole province would support the event, and Jayr Raquinel, who has been fighting in Pakistan and Thailand, has shown that his team is willing to travel to Australia."
"This fight would be a great event, and I always do my best to get Filipino boxers opportunities abroad. I co-promoted and co-managed former WBA World Champion Randy Petalcorin to a world title with Sanman a few years ago," said Maniatis.
"If Jayr Raquinel is unavailable, Giemel Magramo would also be an option for Agina in the meantime. We could be waiting for Jayr, who fights in September, so Giemel Magramo would also be a viable option," said Hall of Fame promoter Peter Maniatis.
