Grammy Award Winner Jermaine Dupri Named Headline Act at This Thursday's Butterfly Brawl in Los Angeles PhilBoxing.com Tue, 04 Jun 2024 Card Set for Butterfly Brawl that Take Place on Thursday June 6th at Academy LA in Hollywood Party and Boxing Event Benefits Warrior of Light Foundation and City of Hope LOS ANGELES (June 3, 2024)--Grammy Award winner Performer and Producer Jermaine Dupri has been tabbed to headline This Thursday night's Butterfly Brawl at Academy LA in Hollywood (6021 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles, 90028) The Performance will coincide with a tremendous night of boxing that will raise money for The Warrior of Hope Foundation. The Butterfly Brawl is an extension of the popular fundraising event Butterfly Ball, which has drawn powerhouses and A-Listers for several years. The event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Warrior Of the Light Foundation and City of Hope. Dupri is one of the biggest R&B Producers and performers in the past 40 years. Nominated for 12 Grammys, Dupri took home Grammy gold in 2007 for the best R&B song "Don't Forget About Us." Dupri has since signed artists including Xscape, Bow Wow, Da Brat, Jagged Edge, Dem Franchize Boyz, YoungBloodZ, and Anthony Hamilton to the label. Meanwhile, he worked with Mariah Carey, Usher, Monica, and Nelly to produce a total of 11 chart-topping singles on the Billboard Hot 100. As a recording artist himself, Dupri's debut studio album, Life in 1472 (1998) peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 and was supported by the top 40 single "The Party Continues" (featuring Usher and Da Brat) and the Grammy Award-nominated "Money Ain't a Thang" (featuring Jay-Z). His second album, Instructions (2001) peaked at number 15 on the Billboard 200 and was led by his second top 40 single, "Welcome to Atlanta" (featuring Ludacris). In 2013, Dupri replaced Randy Jackson as Mariah Carey's talent manager. He co-created the reality television series, The Rap Game with Queen Latifah in 2015. He has won a Grammy Award from a total of 12 nominations. Dupri performed at Halftime of the most recent Super Bowl. In the main event, DeAngelo Evans (10-0, 9 KOs) of Kernersville, NC will take on Freddy Espinoza (10-4, 7 KOs) of Nicaragua in a six-round super lightweight bout. In a four-round bout, Isaiah Carr (2-0, 2 KOs) of Kannapolis, North Carolina taking on Jose Cruz (2-4, 1 KO) of El Monte, California in a super middleweight fight; In a six-round super middleweight bout, Eryk Apresyan (9-1, 6 KOs) of Armenia battles Darynn Leyva (2-7-1, 1 KO) of Orange, California. In a four-round battle of pro debuting heavyweights, Oscar Herrera will take on Zion Alefosio. Also in four-round bouts, Deni Davtian of Glendale, California will make his pro debut against William Davis (2-1-1, 1 KO) of California in a super lightweight contest. Alfred Moss Jr. (1-6, 1 KO) of Greensboro, North Carolina battles Eric Han (0-0-1) of Anchorage, Alaska in a featherweight fight. |
