HALL OF FAMER JIMMY LENNON JR. TO EMCEE OFFICIAL 2024 BOXING HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY PhilBoxing.com Wed, 29 May 2024  The Class of 2024 will receive boxing’s highest honor at Official Induction Ceremony on Sunday, June 9th at 2:30 pm Ceremony to be streamed live on Hall of Fame’s YouTube channel CANASTOTA, NY – MAY 28, 2024 - The International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum, which is celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2024, is pleased to announce that Hall of Fame ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr. will emcee the Official Induction Ceremony honoring the Class of 2024. The Official Induction Ceremony, part of 2024 Hall of Fame Weekend festivities, will take place at The Showroom at Turning Stone Resort Casino in nearby Verona, NY on Sunday, June 9th at 2:30 pm (EST). The ceremony will be streamed live on the Hall of Fame’s YouTube channel. “As the Hall of Fame celebrates 35 years of honoring the best in the sport, we are thrilled that Jimmy Lennon Jr. will emcee the Official Induction Ceremony and help bestow the Class of 2024 with the highest honor in boxing, induction into the Hall of Fame,” said Hall executive director Edward Brophy. The Class of 2024 to be honored includes boxers Ricky Hatton, Ivan Calderon, Diego Corrales (posthumous), Michael Moorer, Jane Couch, Ana Maria Torres, Luis Angel Firpo (posthumous), Theresa Kibby (posthumous), trainer Kenny Adams, manager Jackie Kallen, publicist Fred Sternburg, journalist Wallace Matthews and broadcaster Nick Charles (posthumous). Each living honoree will receive an induction certificate and a custom made gold Hall of Fame ring symbolizing their status as a Hall of Famer. Inductees were voted in by members of the Boxing Writers Association of America and a panel of international boxing historians. Many Hall of Fame alumni and special guests will be on hand to celebrate the new class of inductees. The Class of 2024 will be celebrated during the Hall of Fame Induction Weekend on June 6-9 in “Boxing’s Hometown.” Many events will take place in Canastota and nearby Turning Stone Resort Casino throughout the four-day celebration including ringside talks, fist casting, fight night, 5K race / fun run, boxing autograph card show, banquet and parade.
