VIRTUAL PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES FOR DON KING PROMOTIONS’ “FISTS OF FURY” FRIDAY, JUNE 7 AT THE HARD ROCK LIVE AT SEMINOLE HARD ROCK HOTEL & CASINO IN HOLLYWOOD, FL

PhilBoxing.com

HOLLYWOOD, FL (May 23, 2024) – Ahead of Don King’s “Fists of Fury” event on Friday, June 7, at the Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, the world’s greatest promoter Don King, WBA Continental North American Heavyweight Champion Cassius Chaney and Las Vegas’ Michael “The Bounty” Hunter addressed the media.

Chaney (23-1, 16 KOs) of New London, CT will battle Hunter (21-1-2, 15 KOs) of Las Vegas, NV., on a stacked card of co-featured fights. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster for “Fist of Fury”. The fight card will be broadcast on Pay Per View via Triller TV, DonKing.com and Itube247.com.

Here is what King and the heavyweights had to say:

Don King:

“I am very, very happy to be here to talk about this great heavyweight fight. The WBA approved this title fight, featuring Cassius Chaney and Michael Hunter. Cassius is an honorable guy with great integrity. He is coming off a knockout victory over Trevor Bryan, which was just terrific, and I congratulate him on that. Michael Hunter is the former number one heavyweight contender, and is ready to take on Chaney. We have a great card, all with co-features. Every fight is a championship fight in itself. We don’t use the word undercard in this situation. There is no such thing as an undercard.”

“Blair “The Flair” Cobbs will return to the game of boxing when he takes on Adrien “The Problem” Broner for the WBC People’s Championship. As you know, Broner is a former four-division champion with a tremendous background in boxing. Everyone is telling me not to test this man; he is taboo. Don’t give this man a chance because he won’t show up. Broner showed up at the press conference, so I believe this will be a tremendous fight, and “The Flair” won every fight except one when he took it on two weeks’ notice.”

Cassius Chaney:

“I saw the Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk fight, and I thought it was really good for the sport of boxing, and the right guy won off of one round. It was close, and I think Usyk sealed it with that one round. It was great, but now I’m looking forward to my fight.”

“My knockout over Trevor Bryan was so long ago, so now I am just looking forward to getting back into the ring. It was a statement because I was out of the ring for a while before that fight, so I’m looking forward to getting back to it. Stylistically, Hunter is a much different matchup for me, so I am looking forward to that.”

“The heavyweight energy is high right now because people are realizing we will fight anyone. This is a huge fight coming up, and thank you to Don King for putting us in this position. I look forward to getting back in there and showcasing my abilities. I have grown a lot this past year, been boxing constantly, and been around different fighters. I have structured my team for me with people I trust. I am more at ease with my training because I trust the people I am with. You don’t want to be in a situation where you are with a great trainer but don’t trust them because it makes it hard to do certain stuff. My last win is behind me, so this a whole new challenge, and I’m looking forward to it.”

Michael Hunter:

“The fight Tyson Fury and Oleksandr fight was good. I think the right man won, but I’m not here to focus on that fight. I’m here to focus on my fight because that is what’s in front of me.”

“It’s been kind of tough because I’ve been out of the ring for quite some time, so I had to get myself busy. Politics did get the best of me, but I plan to get back to the number one position, and I’m excited to take this fight on and this challenge. Don King has done such a beautiful job getting me this opportunity. I cannot thank him enough. He’s done a lot of hard work and vouched for me. I think this is just a great opportunity for me. I want to thank Don again for getting me my position back.”

“The energy for this fight has been going around, and the energy is right where it’s supposed to be, with the heavyweights. We’re the big guys. That’s why we call it the heavyweights because there aren’t bigger and tougher men than that. This is a great thing for us because we have the throne again, and I think it’s very beneficial for us.”
