Here is what Kevin Brown had to say about his recent training camp, his upcoming fight with Idalberto Umara, fighting for his first regional title, and more:

On his recent training camp with coach Ismael Salas:

“Everyday I’m in training camp I’m getting better and better. I’m in the best shape of my life and I’m getting the proper sparring to be ready for this fight. Coach Salas and I have put a lot of hard work in and it will show on fight night.”

On his upcoming fight with Idalberto Umara:

“I know he is a fellow countryman from Cuba, so he is well trained from his youth, and he brings a lot of skill to the ring. I’m prepared to go the distance, but I will take him out if I get him hurt. I’m in the business of knockout out my opponents and this fight won’t be any different.”

On fighting for the WBA Continental title:

“This will be my 4th fight scheduled for 10-rounds and I feel the time is now to make my mark in the super lightweight division. I’m ready to take on all contenders and hopefully I’ll be in position to fight for a world title in 2025. I’m hungry and I want to be a world champion, and capturing the WBA Continental title will help.”

On what a win will do for his career:

“Many doors will open with a victory against Umara. Winning these types of fights will help me climb up the rankings faster. I only want to fight the best possible opponents and this is a great opportunity to show the world what I’m made of.”
