(May 22, 2024): Golden Boy announced today the signing of young, undefeated super featherweight prospect Joshua “El Americano” Garcia (8-0, 4 KOs). “First and foremost I’d like to give all praise to God because without him none of this would be possible. "El Americano joins a loaded roster of prospects at Golden Boy Promotions, and we look forward to helping him progress up the ranks of the super featherweight division.” Undefeated prospect Joshua Garcia began boxing when his father took him to a local boxing gym to learn how to defend himself. He became enamored with the sport, and decided to pursue it full time. With around 40 amateur fights under his belt, he decided to pursue the professional ranks in 2021 and made his debut in Mexico with a first-round knockout victory against Boris Garcia Escalante. He was last seen on April 4 when he earned a split decision win against veteran Diuhl Olguin. Training out of Los Angeles, the Moreno Valley native will look to progress steadily in the sport and has big aspirations to be a champion.  |
