Tszyu Overpowers Harrison, Claims WBO Interim 154 Belt; Charlo is Next!

PhilBoxing.com

In impressive fashion, unbeaten Australian Tim Tszyu - son of legendary Russian warrior Kostya Tszyu - outclassed, dropped and stopped American former champ Tony Harrisson in nine action-packed rounds to claim the vacant WBO interim Super Welterweight Title today in Sydney, Australia.

The riveting win paves the way Tszyu's much-awaited world title clash against undisputed Super Welterweight Champion Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KO's), who watched and commented the exciting fight for the Showtime's telecast.

From the get-go, the coming-forward, more more effective, more damaging 28-year-old Tszyu, stalked Tony Harrison (29-4-1, 21 KO's), landing on him with fast and hard combinations, left hooks and right uppercuts that reduced and eventually broke down down the taller American from Detroit.

The inevitable ending transpired in round nine when a solid combo dished out by the Sydney-native staggered Harrison, visibly hurting him sending him backwards to the ropes and down to the grey canvas of Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena.

Even clearly affected by the crushing attack, the brave Tony, managed to regain his vertical, coming back up on his feet. But the third man Danrex Tapdasan of the Philippines had seem enough halting the battle in the final seconds of chapter 9.

After his remarkable TKO win, the super popular and confident Tszyu reaffirmed his intentions of battle Jermell Charlo in U.S. soil for the undisputed WBO/WBC/WBA/IBF Super Welterweight crown, a blockbuster war likely unfold later this year.

Would the skilled, hard-hitting Tim Tszyu go on to brutalize and knock out Jermell Charlo next, just the same way that he overpowered Tony Harrison tonight to conquer coveted undisputed 154 crown, making his legendary old man so proud?

Or will the more-experienced 32-year-old Texas-native "Iron Man" Jermell Charlo stop the younger Australian star in is tracks?

"Any message for Jermell Charlo?" was asked Tim during Showtime's post-fight interview.

"The message was sent. I am coming to America for you!"
