Quiñonero fights Verdadero in Resbak 2
By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Sun, 03 Jul 2022

DENNIS “The Cannon” Quiñonero of Cenonas Mixed Martial Art from Davao City will finally see action in the Resbak 2 professional mixed martial arts tournament on July 12 at the Sunkeen Arena of Municipal Grounds in Malungon, Sarangani Province.
The 38-year-old Quiñonero will fight against new opponent Jay "El Calibre" Verdadero of Observe MMA Tagum City in the main event.
But Quiñonero has yet to turn pro. He, however, has an amateur record of 17 wins, five loses and one draw.
“Yes, he has more experience than me (regarding pro),” said Quiñonero.
Quiñonero said that “two things may happen, win or lose”.
“It’s a challenge for me for my pro debut,” he said.
Quiñonero said that he won by a unanimous decision when they first fought in the amateur.
“But that is different because now it’s a pro,” said Quiñonero.
Verdadero already scored his first win in the “Resbak 1” against Nars “Poison” Tancontian of RSK Aguila MMA Samal Island in Resbak 1 held in Panabo City.
After throwing several kicks, the 24-year-old Verdadero put up a takedown to set up a quick Guillotine choke on Tancontian in one minute and 30 seconds.
The PMMA is organized by Redpalm Events & Promotions headed by promoter Aaron Kent Odiong.
It is part of the “Mayor’s Cup 2022” and sponsored by the LGU Malungon led by Mayor Maria Theresa Dadivas Constantino.
