LOST IN PACQUIAO-MARQUEZ TIDAL WAVE, JACA BATTLES JAPANESE TONITE
By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Sat, 15 Mar 2008

Filipino Jimrex Jaca will fight virtually by his lonesome today against the very dangerous Kengo Nagashima at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
Jaca, although accompanied by his two Filipino trainers, will be fighting without the presence of his manager Rex 'Wakee' Salud, who is in Las Vegas making sure superstar Manny Pacquiao, surrounded by a coterie of hangers-on, is well taken care of.
Nagashima, the Japanese lightweight champ, parades a win-loss-draw record of 32-3-2 with 15 KO's, and ranked WBO no. 7 and WBA no. 10.
Jaca, who has a record of 28-3-3, 13 KO's, is hoping a victory over Nagashima will catapult him back into the the world ratings.
Jaca fought a commendable fight against Juan Manuel Marquez on Nov. 25, 2006 at the Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. Although Jaca lost to Marquez on that fight via a 9-round TKO, he gave Marquez and his corner some anxious moments in the earlier rounds where he almost knocked Marquez down.
Filipino trainers Juanito Ablaca and Robert 'Jun' Bubuli, however, will make sure Jaca is ready to do battle against the Japanese fair-haired boy.
Ablaca, in a recent interview, revealed that Jaca has prepared long and hard for this fight, with his eyes set on yet another American outing after his explosive showing against Juan Manuel Marquez in late 2006.
"Ensayadong-ensayado siya. Grabe ang dedication nya to win this fight," Ablaca noted.
