Jeny Boy Boca, Muhammad Waseem Make Weight in Pakistan

The "Camiguin Tiger" Jeny Boy Boca and former world-title challenger Muhammad Wassem made weight ahead of their 10-rounder non-title rumble Saturday evening at the Governor House in Lahore, Pakistan.

The Filipino made 113.31 pounds, while the Pakistani fighter recorded 113.75, both men looking focused and in excellent shape.

The 26-year-old Jeny Boy Boca from the sunbathed paradise Island of Camiguin wants to seize the fantastic opportunity to battle and defeat the world-ranked former world title challenger, former WBC silver champion Muhammad Waseem (10-1, 7 KO's).

In preparation for the important mission, Jeny Boy trained in his beautiful Camiguin together with experienced coaches former fighters Allan Alegria, 56, of Magpet, Cotabato del Norte, and former warrior Abner Llanasa, 34, of Mambajao, Camiguin.

"It's a great chance and a great responsibility. After training camp, I feel strong," committed Jeny Boy Boca (14-6, 12 KO's), a man who has been waging wars as a pro boxer for 7 years. This indeed could be his golden chance to break into the world rankings.

In his last fight in Thailand, the underdog Jeny Boy Boca stopped in four hard-fought rounds the experienced local Thai fighter Sarawut Thawornkham (21-3, 16 KO's), to claim the WBA Asia Flyweight Belt.

The Thai warrior was the super favorite in the televised rumble. But Jeny Boy overpowered him, silencing the Thai crowd. Can he do the same in Pakistan?

It's not an easy task for Jeny Boy as the taller Muhammad Waseem is a tough gladiator, a man who challenged South African IBF Flyweight World Champion "Babyface" Moruti Mhtalane (38-2, 26 KO's) two years ago in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In that blow-by-blow war, Waseem gave the veteran world champion Moruti the toughest ride, going toe-to-toe with him, attacking and knocking down in round 11, going all the distance with the experienced, strong South African.

Waseem lost in a razor-thin close decision, but proved that he is a fighter of heart, class and battling talent, indeed a very difficult foe for the brave power-punching Pinoy warrior Jeny Boy.

However, Jeny Boy Boca does not worry one bit on what has Waseem done before. What the Camiguin Tiger focuses on is in his own set of fighting skills and his own confidence in himself.

Highly motivated and with the assistance of his coach Alan Alegria, Jeny Boy will aim to surprise his rival for a decidedly win, same as he did in Thailand. Boca has one thing in mind: victory.

Not easy, we all know. But his fans wish him all the best.

The Muhammad Waseem vs Jeny Boy Boca is a promotion of British-Pakistani former champ Amir Khan - who is also the handler of Waseem - in association with MTK Promotions.

The show Saturday night will be aired live on Pakistan's PTV Sports. Free links carrying live streams of the PTV Sports signal are easily available online.

This could be a great door-opener for the hard-punching Jeny Boy Boca. Best of luck Camiguin Tiger!
