Anthony Joshua Punishes and Stops Pulev in 9; Tyson Fury Must be Next

In a night of crushing right uppercuts, British WBA/IBF/WBO Heavyweight World Champion Anthony Joshua devastatingly dropped, battered and stopped mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev, paving the way for his massive undisputed clash against fellow Briton WBC world champ "The Gypsy King" Tyson Fury in 2021.
Joshua looked impressive, reigning supreme over the war-hardened Pulev in a fight that hugely entertained the 1,000 lucky fans in attendance Saturday night at the Wembley Arena in London, England.
From the getgo the taller, more athletic Joshua, exerted his superior skills, fast moves, ring smarts and awesome firepower over the Bulgarian veteran, badly rocking him to the canvas in chapter 3, getting Pulev nearly done.
Thanks to his strength and heart, Pulev managed to survive the big storm, but it was all a matter of time till the arrival of the fateful round nine when the formidable Joshua commanding complete control ended the battle unleashing a the vicious bombs-filled attack that again catapulted the diminished Pulev backwards down to the blue canvas were he was counted out by the South African referee.
The thrilling win - an advanced Christmas present for his many fans – inches Joshua closer to his dream fight, a total 4-belt unification war for the undisputed heavyweight world championship against WBC champion Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KO’s), a mega blockbuster event that would most certainly be one of the most anticipated All-British heavyweight battles of all time, a fantastic rumble that no boxing fan could afford to miss.
Official time for the stoppage was 2 minute 58 seconds in round nine, a knockout show that hammered home more success for the bankable Matchroom Boxing-DAZN boxing partnership, which set to deliver Canelo vs Smith for the super middleweight world title this coming Saturday December 19.
It was an sensational victory for for the 31-year-old Anthony Joshua who elevates his outstanding record to 24-1, with 22 KO's.
