Canelo Sues Oscar and DAZN, Will he fight in 2020? By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Fri, 11 Sep 2020 Canelo has sued his promoter Oscar de la Hoya and British streaming service DAZN in a California Court because the Mexican superstar is not getting the blockbuster fight that he has been wanting. If Canelo does not fight, he does not get millions and millions of $$$$ that he normally earns, reportedly 35 million for his next fight. But this year he hasn’t fought yet and that obviously he doesn’t like. The legal situation is now likely going to delay Canelo’s return to the ring in 2020. Though hopefully not. There is still a possibility that Canelo might fight Turkish boxer Yildirim in a WBC title fight and a purse bid is set for September 21, though fans were wanting Canelo to rumble against Triple G, Billy Joe Saunders or Callum Smith. Hopefully, a solution will be found between Canelo, Oscar and DAZN as fans would love to see the hugely popular Canelo in action against a tough top-notch opponent. In his last fight last year, super middleweight Canelo stopped the fearsome light heavyweight Russian “Krusher” Sergey Kovalev in spectacular fashion. Canelo wanted more action like that this year. Unfortunately nothing so far. Of course, that has been in big part due to the huge disruption caused by Covid-19, the ongoing pandemic, affecting everything and everyone in this planet. Therefore, some boxing fans wonder if given the really unusual and extremely difficult situation in the world today, has Canelo been fair in suing Oscar and DAZN..?? The guess is that they wanted Canelo fighting to make big money too! It's just that for months the business of boxing has been taking a severe beating. At the end, lets hope that a solution agreeable to all will be found soon, so that 🇲🇽 Canelo fans will see his “Gallo” in action again.
