Feared puncher Naoya Inoue came in heavier than Nonito Donaire Jnr during their official weighin at the Grand Palace Hotel in Tokyo, Japan Wednesday for their WBA/IBF bantamweight unification bout scheduled for Thursday at the Super Arena in Saitama, about 30 kilometers north of Tokyo.

Inoue, 26, the IBF world bantamweight champion, weighed in at the bantamweight limit of 118 lbs while Donaire, 36, the WBA super world bantamweight champion, stepped the scales at 117.5 lbs.

The winner of the fight will also bring home the Muhammad Ali Trophy plus a cool $1 million dollars for winning the World Boxing Super Series in the bantamweight division. The Ring Magazine's lineal title is also on the line as Inoue is the current champion and Donaire is ranked No. 3.

Donaire (45-5-0, 26KOs) is a four-weight division world champion where he held titles in flyweight, bantamweight, super bantamweight and featherweight.

Inoue (18-0-0, 16KOs) is a three-division world champion where he captured the WBC light flyweight title in his 6th pro fight in 2014 and went on to capture titles in the super flyweight and bantamweight.

Donaire, who is the underdog in this fight, said during the official weighin, “I know exactly what I’m going to do inside that ring. The odds don’t matter.”

“This is the best of the best and this is everything a fighter works for,” said Donaire. “I’ve been through it all (before). It’s another step towards being undisputed (champion).

For his part, Inoue said, “I’m not seeing Nonito as the underdog. There’s no difference between us. As far as boxing is concerned, there’s nothing to expect but the greatest fight ever. If I am victorious tomorrow night, this will be a very big step towards a bright future.”
