REY VARGAS BEATS TOMOKI KAMEDA TO KEEP BELT

Rey Vargas of Mexico retained his WBC world super bantamweight belt by defeating his Japanese challenger Tomoki Kameda by unanimous decision with identical scores of 117-110 from the three judges Lou Moret, Kevin Scott and Zachary Young Saturday night at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
Kameda was deducted a point in the last round for hitting Vargas at the break.
Vargas has now successfully defended his WBC belt for the 5th time and is still undefeated with a record of 34 wins with 22 knockouts. Kameda has dropped to 36-3-0, 20KOs.
