Ryota Murata Stops Rob Brant in Two; Regains his WBA Middleweight Title Friday in Japan
By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Fri, 12 Jul 2019

Japanese Ryota Murata (15-2, 12 KO's) impressively regained his WBA Middleweight "Regular" World Title by stopping in two rounds nemesis Rob Brant (25-2, 17 KO's) Friday, July 12, at the EDION Arena in Osaka, Japan.
From the getgo, an aggressive Murata came out swinging hard straight rights and left hooks, landing repeatedly over Brant, who was overwhelmed with the rough leather dished out by the more confident, strong Japanese.
The end unfolded during round two when Puerto Rican referee Luis Pabon intervened to halt actions as Brant was already pinned against the ropes absorbing excessive punishment. Official time was 2:34 in round two.
With the thrilling win, Murata successfully avenged his defeat to Brant in October of last year in Las Vegas, and the 2012 Olympic gold medalist is ready for more challenges.
The fight was broadcast live in Japan on Fuji TV and around the world on ESPN.
Top Rank's president Bob Arum and WBA president Gilberto Mendoza where on top of the ring to congratulating the newly crowned Japanese Middleweight world champion.
