NBA -- Celtics hold off Sixers, 108-97

BOSTON ? The Boston Celtics thwarted the upstart Philadelphia 76ers 108-97 on Wednesday night at the TD Garden.
The Celtics broke away from a 67-67 third quarter tie and pounced on a weary Sixers team that had played their third game in four nights.
Kyrie Irving led Boston with 36 while Al Horford added 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.. Marcus Morris contributed 17 points and 5 rebounds and Jayson Tatum finished with 15 points.
Dario Saric led the losing side with 18 points and 10 rebounds, guard JJ Redick added 17 points and 5 assists while Ben Simmons chipped in 15 points and 7 assists.
The 76ers fell to 12-9 with the loss while the Celtics
continues to lead the league with a 19-4 slate.
