LOS ANGELES -- The 2nd annual ESPNLA 710 All Star Celebrity Basketball Game dribbled off last August 5 at the Microsoft Square in this world famous City of Angels. As expected, the event was a blast.
ESPN personalities Michelle Beadle and former NFL star Marcellus Wiley headlined Team ESPN LA while"Straight Outta Compton" actor O?shea Jackson Jr. and Clark Gregg of the "The Avengers" fame led Team Hollywood.
The super amiable chef Roy Choi, the culinary brains behind the famous Kogi food truck franchise, was a last minute walk on for Team Hollywood.
An icon in the food truck movement, chef Roy was the inspiration of the movie ?Chef? by Jon Favreau.
The 2nd edition of the ESPN-LA 710 celebrity game had a delightful twist as a slam dunk contest and a dance-off among the competing teams and some fans on the stands was held.
Giveaways, were aplenty and spectators were showered with t-shirts and posters.
Among those in attendance included L.A. Rams mascot ?Rampage? who proved to be quite the entertaner, belting off dance moves that can make Beyonce' blush.
Team Hollywood led almost entriely, until the the last two minutes when Team ESPN put the clamps on defense and ended up winning the game for a second straight year ,63-56. David Jacoby, who co-hosts an ESPN radio show with former NBA All-Star Jalen Rose, was named the game's MVP.
All proceeds of the game will be donated to the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund at the V Foundation.
