PACQUIAO MAKES A POINT, BUT HOMOSEXUALS ARE HUMANS

PhilBoxing.com

It was a ?blooper? whether or not he said it on his own, or he was ill advised.

The original purpose perhaps was to create a ?Pacman wave? in media in order to generate awareness among the people or casual fans worldwide about his upcoming Top Rank sham with Timothy Bradley due to the coldness of the boxing community for the said trilogy. But it was a bad publicity. The politically ambitious boxer may have simply intended to sell the fight, yet instead of selling it, the few who are inclined to watch may even be having second thoughts at this time.

Manny Pacquiao wanted to share some Biblical dogma regarding homosexuality by answering questions. Same sex marriage was the topic of the interview. Pacquiao is opposed to it and rightly so. But what boggles the mind is that the Church or ?holy sector? makes a gigantic issue of gay couples desiring to get married while normal couples by the millions around the world have long been living together outside of marriage. Which is more sinful or damnable?

Pacquiao was candid in telling the truth that God abhors the sin or the act of same sex mating. Too bad, however, that he did not only compare gays with animals, he even, in effect, branded them to be ?worse than animals.? I diametrically disagree with such mindless/careless, though indirect, accusation.

Repeatedly I played the video of Pacquiao?s interview by TV 5 and deciphered everything I heard in that particular segment. Honestly, this writer found nothing wrong with his points and spirit except that his use of simile and metaphor were atrocious, and that he was talking in front of a national television camera at that.

Pacquiao got into trouble for correctly standing his ground on the issue and for being na?ve or having failed to guard his tongue in public.

A leader of a country ought to have wisdom to discern which advice to heed and reject and the restraint to bring out his thoughts to the world. For all we know, God loves gays much more than the religious, self-righteous modern Pharisees. Jesus Christ came and died for human beings, not animals.
