NBA -- Curry, Thompson lead Warriors' rout over Spurs
By Joan Secuya-Medida PhilBoxing.com Sun, 22 Feb 2015

SAN FRANCISCO - Steph Curry and Klay Thompson proved why they are one of the best backcourt combos in the NBA today.
Curry had 25 points and 11 assists while Thompson pumped in 20 as the league-leading 43-9 Golden State Warriors demolished the San Antonio Spurs, 110-99, on Friday night at the Oracle Arena in downtown Oakland, California.
Although the Warriors relied heavily on their All-Star backcourt, the also got plenty of firepower elsewhere as Harrison Barnes had 16 points and five rebounds and Andre Iguodala added 14 off the bench, while David Lee and Draymond Green combined for 22 points and 12 boards.
All told, the Warriors made 41 of 84 shots, including 17 of 33 from long distance.
After a solid opening where they hatched 29 points, the Spurs turned stone cold and trailed 89-68 entering the fourth quarter. The Spurs made 39 of 81 shots but missed 13 of 19 triples. San Antonio also missed five of their 20 free throws.
"We shot very poorly and they didn't. We didn't play that bad. They were just inspired and we couldn't make shots," Spurs veteran Manu Ginobili told ESPN. com
Kawhi Leonard and Aron Bynes each had 12 points to pace San Antonio. Boris Diaw gathered 11 points off the bench but Tim Duncan and Tony Parker made only a combined 3-of-12 shots for a combined 10 points. (JSM).
