Macau - Before the restaurants and shops open for the day, before the gamblers and shoppers pour in at The Venetian Macau, sixteen fighters are up early for the weigh-in of a big boxing weekend in this entertainment capital city in the Far East.

Manny Pacquiao and Chris Algieri will face off in a WBO welterweight clash at the resort's Cotai Arena Sunday morning at 10 (Saturday evening at 10 in the US).

Pacquiao, had no problem making the catch weight limit of 144 pounds to defend his title, he was 143.8 lbs.

Algieri stepped in the scales twice and was both over on his two attempts, he weighed in at 144.4 and then he stripped down his trunks to try a second time, but he was still over the limit at 144.2 lbs.

He was successful on his third attempt at making weight, less than an hour after he initially stepped in the scales, this time he was 143.6 lbs.

And the main event fight tomorrow is now officially on.

"I want to repeat those early days in my boxing career. I want to get back the aggressiveness and the hunger when I was young. " stated a lean Pacquiao, whose recent ring encounters were devoid of the knockout his fans were clamoring for.

"I know I did all the hard work that I need to do, I know that I have the talent and skills to do it and this is a dream come true and I'm ready to rock." was Algieri's pronouncement.
