The historic first-ever GAB Boxing Convention officially came off the wraps just moments ago, with GAB Chairman Eric Buhain and Commissioner Alex Paglumotan welcoming guests both from the local and international scene.
General Kovid Bhakdibhumi and his secretary general Patrick Cusick took to the podium to speak and gave a backgrounder on Muay Thai, which was officially declared legal in the country today.
Cusick then answered queries from the gallery regarding Muay Thai boxing, while Chairman Buhain joined him at times at the podium to make clear certain points.
After a 20-minute break, boxing division chief Emmanuel Flores then gave a short review of Manny Pacquiao's life, then gave a talk on the new rules on professional boxing.
An open forum ensued before the delegates took a break for lunch.
Convention resumes at 2PM, with GAB medical division chief Nasser Cruz, a leading world authority in the subject and member of the WBC medical advisory board, conducting the seminar on the medical aspect of boxing.
