Fast-rising featherweight Michael Farenas, who is managed by Japanese Kosuke Washio and Gerry Penalosa, figures in the main event tomorrow when he goes up against veteran Edwin Gastador in a 10-round rumble in Kawayan, Masbate.
The southpaw Farenas, a native of Sorsogon Province, is hoping to barge into the top 10 with a win over Gastador.
At the weigh-in supervised by GAB's Rolando Mendoza moments ago, Farenas came in at 128 lbs, while Gastador tipped the beam at 127 lbs.
In the chief support, ex-PABA junior fly boss Marvin Tampus will see action as a bantamweight after a one-year layoff as he takes on one-time prospect Noel Sungahid in another 10-round tiff.
Tampus, who has not won a fight since 2004, is expected to have his hands full as he goes immediately against a dangerous fighter in Sungahid.
