BARDON VIES FOR PABA TITLE

San Carlos City's Jojo Bardon, a protege of Rex "Wakee" Salud, will challenge for the Pan-Asian Boxing Association (PABA) flyweight crown against reigning champion Denkaosan Kaovichit on January 10 in Thailand.

Bardon, who once tried and failed to win the RP junior fly title against Sonny Boy Jaro of Silay City, will be coming in a huge underdog to unseat Kaovichit, who is a one-time WBA flyweight challenger and a long-time PABA flyweight boss.

Kaovichit holds a record of 32 wins, 1 loss with 14 KO's, while Bardon has 13 wins, 9 losses, 1 draw with 8 KO's.

Bardon, however, is on a 3-bout winning streak and is reportedly in tremendous shape for the fight. He stopped Rolly Mandahinog last November following his wins over Japanese Yasuyuki Kodama and Jun Eballe.

Kaovichit will be facing his 13th Filipino opponent thus far in Bardon, and is expected to cruise to an easy defense of his title.
