Wyndel "Braveheart" Janiola finally sees action after a six-month layoff when he faces Julius Alcos on December 28 right at the latter's hometurf in Tagum City, Davao Del Norte.
The talented Janiola, who has seen action only once this year, is aching to display his skills once again in order to barge into the top 10 of the IBF rankings, which demoted him following an "unauthorized" fight in June where he disposed of journeyman Ricky Escaner in two rounds.
Now that he has hooked up with the promotional group of North Cotabato Governor Emmanuel Pi?ol, Janiola has been assured of fighting on a regular basis.
Up next is the dangerous Alcos, who enjoys vast popularity in Davao following successive wins over Jackie Pagara and an out-of-shape Noel Tu?acao, Janiola's former stablemate.
The Janiola-Alcos rumble is reportedly being lined up to be showcased by the newly-formed ABS-CBN boxing program to be called "Manny Pacquiao Presents," and will be hosted by Governor Pi?ol.
The new television venture is a project of MRM Sports, a consortium made up of Pacquiao, Rex "Wakee" Salud, and Pi?ol.
