CHERRY Mae Rosas of Puerto Princesa City made an impressive debut by winning the vacant Philippine female super flyweight crown last Sunday night, May 24 at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.
The 18-year-old Rosas knocked down veteran Charimae Salvador in the early seconds of the first round.
Rosas continued to pummel Salvador with her left-right combinations in the next round.
Salvador tried to hit Rosas with her punches but Rosas threw more jabs and hooks.
In the 3rd round, Rosas hit Salvador again with left-and-right combinations forcing the referee to stop the fight.
It was the first fight by Rosas, a former full contact kickboxing outstanding student-athlete of the National Kickboxing Championship 2026.
Rosas was also representing City College of Tagaytay-School of Physical Education and Sports with the support of the Samahang Kickboxing ng Pilipinas.
The 27-year-old Salvador suffered her 11th loss against five wins.
The “Triple Threat” boxing event was promoted by Cucoy Elorde and Lennon Tsoi.
