ROBEL dela Cerna, who is now a resident of the City of Mati will fight undefeated Jhonel “The Terror” Lastimosa of Ozamis City for the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation Youth light flyweight title on June 21 at the DRP Sports Complex in Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City.
“My training now is just okay,” said 22-year-old Dela Cerna, who is training at the Mati Boxing Gym.
Jimuel Asuncion is handling his training.
In his previous fight, Dela Cerna scored an upset against unbeaten Rainier John Antipona of General Santos City by a split decision at the Villa Kristen Resort and Hotel in Gensan.
Dela Cerna, who had no fight last year, suffered a technical knockout against Jordan Atlao in the 4th round last December 2024 in Calinan, Davao City.
“Regarding the knockout, I don't have that in mind. It's just a game, win or lose, I accept it as long as nothing bad happens”, said Dela Cerna [4-3-0, 2KOs].
Lastimosa [4-0-2, 3KOs], on the other hand, is trained by his father Felixberto Lastimosa Jr. at the Glenford Fitness Boxing Gym in Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.
He is managed by PBF vice-president Glenford Rafa.
The fight is billed as “Bakbakan sa Putatan’.
It is promoted by Dave Almario of DS Almario Promotion with Art Monis as the matchmaker.
