FORMER world champion Rene Mark “Mighty Mouse” Cuarto is ready to fight Ginjiro Shigeoka of Japan for the IBF Interim world minimumweight title on April 16 at the Yoyogi #2 Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
The 26-year-old Cuarto of Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte is now in Tokyo together with chief trainer-manager Raides “Nonoy” Neri, wife and co-manager Vanessa Neri and trainer Vincent Dayaganon.
“I’m in good condition, I have no problem with my weight,” said Cuarto.
Cuarto (21-3-2, 12KOs) is only three pounds over the required weight limit.
He recently knocked out Dexter “Cement Kidmama” Alimento of Iligan City in the 2nd round last December 23, 2022 in Davao City.
Shigeoka, on the other hand, has eight wins with six knockouts.
In his last fight, Shigeoka had a no contest with Daniel Valladares of Mexico after the fight was stop due to accidental batting by Valladares in the 3rd round.
It was supposed to be the IBF World minimumweight title fight.
