THE Games and Amusements Board will hold a refresher seminar workshop for the judges and referees in Davao City on November 26 at the Elorde Davao Gym in Tulip Drive, Matina.
The seminar will be conducted by international referee and judge Atty. Danrex Tapdasan, who is the president of the Association of Philippine Professional Boxing Ring Officials (APPBRO).
The 44-year-old Tapdasan has recently judge the fight between Jonathan Gonzalez of Puerto Rico and Shokichi Iwata of Japan for the WBO World light flyweight title last November 1 in Saitama, Japan. Gonzales won by a unanimous decision.
The one-day seminar is requested by the Mindanao Professional Ring Officials Association (MinPROA) headed by its president Alberto “Bebot” Dulalas.
“The seminar is aimed to refresh and equip the members of MinPROA who we consider our partners in developing and uplifting the interest of the sport of professional boxing,” said GAB OIC Atty. Ermar Benitez.
Registration fee is P1,000. A boxing event organized by Alfie Angelo Jonsay will also be held at 7 p.m. at the Elorde Davao Gym.
“May the bond of our fellow Mindanaon professional ring officials be made stronger and more harmonious in unity and oneness of mind,” said Dulalas.
