UNDEFEATED Lienard “The Matrix” Sarcon of the Samal Island, Davao del Norte beat world-rated Jong Seon Kang of South Korea by unanimous decision to win the vacant World Boxing Association Asia featherweight title last September 4 at the Tech University of Korea in Siheaung.
The 22-year-old Sarcon knocked down Kang in the 3rd round.
It was the 10th win by Sarcon while only the first setback by Kang against 15 wins, one draw with eight knockouts.
Sarcon was accompanied by trainer-manager Raides “Nonoy” Neri.
