THE first BJMP Multisport XI Reloaded Duathlon will be held on March 20 in Tagum City featuring 250 participants.
Prizes worth P40,000 will be given away to the over-all male and female finishers, both in road bike and mountain bike categories.
“Rain or shine, it will start at 5:30 a.m. The event will kick off with a 5-kilometer run around the New City Hall all out and back to Jollibee Apokon,” said BJMP Region XI Sports Ambassador JO3 Harvey Bryan Malnegro.
Their next event is a 40 kilometer bike, an out and back course from Maco and Mabini Municipality with the Barangay Hall of San Antonio, Mabini as the turning point.
After racking their bikes, athletes will make their final 3 kilometer run out and back from Chooks-To-Go to Apokon Road.
This is the second event after the pandemic. It is organized by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Multisport XI as a fundraising event for the development of the agency's Tagum City Jail Female Dormitory and its Firing Range.
It is headed by Regional Director JCSupt. Isabelo Cartin Jr. with the Tagum City Jail and Tagum City Female Jail Female Dormitory as its host jails.
The said jails are headed by JCInsp. Jul Akbar Jamiri and JInsp. Sally Lobo as Project Director and Assistant Project Director respectively.
“The construction of the said Multipurpose Hall started last February 20 and is bound to be turned over by April this year,” said Malnegro.
The race officials of the event are the Citywide Cycling Association of Davao headed by Coach Dino Carpio.
