ORTHODOX Vincent “Asero” Astrolabio of General Santos City and former Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation champion Mark John “The Journey Man” Yap of Cagayan de Oro both arrived in Dubai Saturday (February 19) to face separate foes on February 26.
The 24-year-old Astrolabio will fight former WBA and WBO world super bantamweight champion Guillermo “El Chacal The Jackal” Rigondeaux of Cuba for the World Boxing Council (WBC) International bantamweight title while the 33-year-old Yap will take on the undefeated Jadier Herrera of Cuba for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia super featherweight title fight at The Lawn in Emirates Gulf Club, Dubai.
Astrolabio arrived together with manager-chief trainer Raides “Nonoy” Neri while Yap was accompanied by trainer Jayvee Alipio and assistant Mack Canisio.
They immediately practice at the nearby gym.
