Vicelles KOs Mama in 10th round

DAVAO CITY – Mark “Thunder” Vicelles of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat connected a left hand in the last round to knock out Jerven “Iron Fist” Mama of Gen. Santos City in the main supporting bout of the “Kumbati 10” last night at the IPI Tingub Gym in Mandaue City.

The time was at 2:59 which was a shocking ending.

Mama was leading the last round but suddenly a left straight by Vicelles did the damage.

Vicelles got hurt when his left eye suffered a cut in the 9th round. Mama suddenly found a target for his punching. But Vicelles remained focused on the fight and threw his last bomb on Mama.

The 26-year-old Vicelles remained undefeated with 14 wins with eight knockouts and one draw while Mama, 24, suffered his first loss against 12 wins and one draw.

"Napakagada ng laban, candidate ito for the Fight of the Year (The fight is very good, it is a candidate for the Fight of the Year)," said former world champion Dodie Boy Penalosa, who was watching the fight.
