While superstar Manny Pacquiao rejoices over his split decision victory over Juan Manuel Marquez, a countryman has been dealt a split decision loss in Osaka, Japan after former two-time world title challenger Eriberto 'Yukka' Gejon, fighting without his manager Rex 'Wakee' Salud who is currently in Las Vegas, bowed to local boy Yuki Kanemitsu at the IMP Hall.
Gejon becomes the second Wakee Salud fighter to lose by close decisions in Japan after Jimrex Jaca also fell via close unanimous decision to Kengo Nagashima last Saturday in Tokyo.
Salud is currently in Las Vegas as part of Team Pacquiao, and could not make it to the fight of his two boxers.
The loss was Gejon's third loss in a row, and many wonder what has happened to the career of this once very promising fighter, who just like his buddy Rodel Mayol just can't seem to get the right break at the right time.
With his latest loss, Gejon's record dipped to 23-4-1, 14 KO's while Kanemitsu improves to 11-1, 6 KO's.
