Manila---Everything is set for the much awaited 1st Philippine Arbiter's Standard and 960 (Fischer random) Online Chess Championships on Friday, June 12, 2020 at the lichess.org.
NCFP rating are based on March 2020 will be use according to national arbiter Ely Acas.
"The time control format is two minutes plus two seconds increment. 9 rounds standard and 960 (Fischer random) to combine total score for the coveted Grand Champion," said tournament manager Capt. Ronaldo Banaag, the Founder/ CEO of the famous Brotherhood of the Knights Square Table.
Internartional Arbiter/National Master Wilfredo Neri, International Arbiter James Infiesto and National Master Rudy Ibanez head the list of participants.
Meanwhile, all is set for the staging of the Philippine E-9 Chess Tournament together with Jeonbuk Bank to be held on June 28, 2020 in South Korea. According to Philippine E-9 chess club co-founder Mr. Junjun Jabay and Mr. Norwin Altez Marasigan, the over the board tournament is open to all chess players in South Korea. Chief arbiter is Mr.Junil Choi, a license Fide arbiter and assisted by Mr. Norwin Altez Marasigan. Limited to first 40 participants. Among the early entries are Joel Carcueva, Ruel Gomez, Jomar Vigo, Wilson Valenton, Ariel Ceneta, Jeferson Marabe, Richard Doronio, Jayward Alaska, Rogen J. luna and Jun Jun Jabay.-Marlon Bernardino-
