DAVAO CITY -- Veteran promoter Rey Rodis made a separate cancellations in boxing and wrestling matches this month due to the 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Rodis was supposed to have a promotion in boxing in Nabunturan, Davao de Oro on March 5 followed by Tagum, Davao del Norte in March 7 in boxing.
The Nabunturan event was tentatively headlined by super featherweight Charly "King's Warrior" Suarez of San Isidro, Davao del Norte while the Tagum promotion was supposed to be top billed by Jenel "The Demolition Man" Lausa of Makati against a Thailand fighter.
He was also supposed to have a wrestling match led by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Fame Rikishi on March 25 in Davao City.
Rodis is planning to move the wrestling match on August in the Kadayawan Festival if the situation has improve.
"No choice sa Kadayawan if the situation improves," said Rodis.
Rikishi Phatu, an American professional wrestler is a one-time Intercontinental Champion, two-time World Tag Team Champion, and one-time WWE Tag Team Champion.
He is a member of the Anoaʻi family of Samoan wrestlers. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his sons, wrestlers Jey and Jimmy Uso, in 2015.
Rikishi appeared on WWE for the RAW Reunion show in 2019.
