JOHN Vincent Moralde promised to deliver a major shocker and did just that when he upended erstwhile unbeaten Ismail Muwendo via unanimous decision in their non-title, super featherweight duel Sunday morning (PH time) at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.
Moralde, a stalwart of the Sanman Boxing Gym in General Santos City, dropped Muwendo twice en route to scoring the convincing victory.
Two judges scored the bout at 76-74, while the third judge had it 77-74--all for Moralde.
Moralde thus bounced back from a sorry loss the last time out and upped his record to 19W-1L-0D, 10KOs.
Muwendo absorbed his first career-loss as he saw his streak of 19 straight wins come to an abrupt end.
