Sanman?s Metuda settles for draw in Japan

SANMAN Boxing Gym?s Rimar Metuda put up a tough stand in enemy?s territory before settling for a majority draw against Nihito Arakawa last Saturday at the Ota-City General Gymnasium in Japan.

Scores were 114-114, 114-114 and 116-112. With the draw, Arakawa retained his WBO Asia-Pacific lightweight belt but Metuda saw a different outcome.

?I won the fight. I got robbed. I want rematch. I thought I did enough to win the fight,? said Metuda, who now has a 12W-3L-1D, 7KOs record. Arakawa fell to 31W-6L-2D, 18KOs.

Just like Metuda, Jim Claude "JC" Manangquil, CEO of Sanman Promotions, believed that his ward fought a good fight to earn the victory.

?Metuda did really well in the fight. I thought he won the fight,? Manangquil said.

To settle the score, Manangquil said Metuda and Arakawa should meet once more.

?We will try to get a rematch with Arakawa,? Manangquil said.
