By Hesiquio Balderas PhilBoxing.com Sun, 18 Aug 2013

Takashi Miura (25-2-2, 19 KO?s) 129.5 pounds and his challenger Sergio ?Yeyo? Thompson (31-2-0, 29 KO?s) 130 pounds could be over before the limit of 12 rounds as both champion and challenger have knockout power.
The weigh-in was at the beautiful ?Oasis Arena Canc?n?. Jos? Sulaim?n, Ra?l Jaimes and Eric Gomez from Golden Boy Promotions and local promoter Pepe G?mez of Cancun Boxing were at hand to witness the fighters in the scales.
Yeyo and Miura looked in great shape and promise to deliver a great show at the bullring in the always amazing city of Cancun Mexico.
Thompson has incorporated into his training camp a complete arsenal of punches and has been training along side featherweight champion Abner Mares. They have been using the very popular and tough sport named Crossfit to help them improve their stamina and endurance.
"I feel in the best shape of my life. I've been working hard for this great opportunity and I won't disappoint my own people in my hometown. It's going to be a war and I am going to be victorious tonight," concluded Thompson.
A sellout crowd is expected in the bullring. The champion Miura had nothing to say during the weigh-in. The Japanese seemed very confident as well as and in great shape.
According to promoter Pepe Gomez, Cancun has become one of the most important boxing places in the world and his company along with Golden Boy Promotions are planning to bring big fights to this venue starting with tonight's WBC super featherweight championship fight.
