NBA -- LeBron's triple-double carries Heat over Raptors in OT
By Rob Cruz PhilBoxing.com Fri, 25 Jan 2013

TORONTO -- Pushed to the limit by the struggling Toronto Raptors, the defending NBA champions Miami Heat relied on their big-game experience and superior talent to walk away with a 123-116 overtime victory Wednesday night at the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami.
Strutting the stuff that MVPs are made of, LeBron James led the Heat with a rare triple-double -- 32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Sidekick Dwyane Wade made matters worse for the upset-minded Raptors as the eight-time All-Star aided James with 35 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Chris Bosh, the other link of Miami's fabled Big Three, tallied 12 points and 12 rebounds.
"You're talking about the elite players in the world, not the league, the world. I thought our guys battled, scratched and tried to keep up. Man-for-man, it's hard for us to match up with them. We've got to them with different looks and we gave up something, which was open shots,".Raptors head coach Dwane Casey told NBA.com about his sentiments on James and Wade.
Adding to Casey's and the Raptors' woes was the stellar performance of gunner Ray Allen, The former Celtics guard chalked 18 points, drilling four of seven threes. Allen's dagger 3 with 59.3 seconds left in overtime capped a 10-0 Heat run that put Miami ahead for good, 120-114.
Heat point guard Mario Chalmers also acquitted himself well, 14 points and three assists.
Alan Anderson paced the Raptors with 20 points while point guard Jose Calderon finished with 17 and three assists. Terrence Ross chipped in 16.
With the win, the Heat remained on top of the Eastern Conference with a 27-12 won-lost slate. The Raptors dropped in the bottom of the Atlantic Division at 15-27. (RC)
LeBron James' 31 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists powered the Miami Heat over the Toronto Raptors in overtime, 123-116, Wednesday night at the Miami Airlines Arena.
