BUGSY BET CHANG WINS ALL JAPAN
By Marlon Bernardino PhilBoxing.com Mon, 19 Nov 2012
BUGSY International Promotions bet Jung-Lin Chang cemented his no.1 status in the world by topping countryman Yang Ching-shun of Chinese-Taipei, 11-7, in the final to win the 45th All Japan Championship in Amagasaki, Japan on Sunday.
It is the second major title of the year for the top player of Bugsy International Promotions Chang, who in February won the 2012 World 8-Ball Championship in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, when he beat another Taiwanese bet Che-Wei Fu in the final.
Chang banks $28,600 top purse while Yang pocketed the runner-up $14,300.
"The win once again Jung-Lin Chang proved its Asia's supremacy in the World of Pool," said Chang benefactor sportsman/businessman Ceferino "Perry" Mariano, top honcho of Bugsy International Promotions.
In the semi-final Chang bested Fu while Yang ousted another Bugsy International Promotions bet and lone Filipino hopeful Johann "Bubwit" Chua.
The China Open also has a women's division, and it was Taiwan's Chou Chie Yu who came out on top, defeating compatriot Tan Ho Yun.
Other Filipino seeing in action in All Japan Championship in the event sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association were hall of famer Efren "Bata" Reyes, Francisco "Django" Bustamante, Dennis "Robocop" Orcollo, Lee Vann "The Slayer" Corteza, Antonio "Nikoy" Lining, Jundel "Jano" Mazon, Ramil "Bebeng" Gallego, Carlo "The Black Tiger" Biado, Mark Aristotle Mendoza, Elvis Perez and Dondon Razalan.
