AMATEUR STANDOUT JACK TEPORA MAKES PRO DEBUT

Former national team member Jack Tepora of Omega boxing gym makes pro debut against Walter Semblante in a four-rounder on March 4 in a "thanksgiving" free-to-the-public card at the Cebu Coliseum courtesy of Sammy Gello-ani's SSG Promotions. Upper and lower box seats will be given free to fight fans as a show of gratitude for the safe trip back home of Team Casimero, which included Gello-ani himself after a post-fight riot in Argentina.

Tepora was the champion of the 2010 PLDT-ABAP Visayas Area Championships and 2011 National Championships in Cagayan de Oro City and it pave the way for his inclusion in the national training pool in Baguio City.

He represented the country in two international invitational tournaments in Hong Kong and Pakistan, winning gold in Hong Kong. He was also a recipient of a citation from the recent Sportswriters Association of Cebu (SAC)- San Miguel Brewery Cebu Sports Awards together with amateur teammate Daryl Pucdol.

Jack is the younger brother of IBF light flyweight champion Jhonriel Casimero's chief second Christopher "Ping-Ping" Tepora.
