Boy Dondee Pumar will travel to Fukuoka, Japan to challenge Tomoki ?El Mexicanito? Kameda for the WBC Youth Bantamweight title this July 8. Pumar (8W-1L-3D, 2 KO?s) , who also fights under the name Pumar D. Singwangcha , won the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation superflyweight title last year, beating Rocky Sardido by unanimous decision.
Promoter Aljo Jaro informed philboxing of this match-up. He will be going to Japan to accompany his boxer Pumar, and then proceed to Hawaii for Denver Cuello?s upcoming fight on July 16 against Omar Soto on the undercard of the Julio Cesar Miranda-Brian Viloria WBO flyweight title bout.
The unbeaten Kameda (19W-0L, 12 KO?s) has also won the WBC Fecarbox and NABF Bantamweight titles. A familiar name on his resume is German Meraz, who fought in Cebu last 2009 and lost to Gerry Penalosa by unanimous decision.
Kameda made his career in Mexico, hence the ring name El Mexicanito. His two brothers, Koki and Daiki, have won world title belts.
