'MARVELOUS PACQUIAO' TO BE UNVEILED!
By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Mon, 01 Dec 2008
LOS ANGELES--Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao is set to introduce to the boxing public his latest pride and joy, a very talented young kid from the Philippines who will turn pro on Dec. 17 for the boxing icon's 30th birthday.
Pacquiao, according to Cebu promoter Rex 'Wakee' Salud, will manage Marvelous Pacquiao, who is reportedly a former national amateur gold medallist belonging to a boxing clan in the Philippines.
The boy, according to Salud, was originally slated to turn pro underneath the December 6 "Dream Match" but visa problems scuttled the plans.
"Everything was set for the boy's debut fight on Dec. 6. But his visa was disapproved," informed Salud.
"As it is, Marvelous Pacquiao will now turn pro on Dec. 17 in a card put up by MP Promotions for Pacman's birthday," added Salud.
When asked about the real identity of the boxer, Salud merely shrugged his shoulder, and said he will be introduce to the public on Dec. 17.
"Adto nalang ta magkita sa GenSan. Ato lantawon ni kay pirting maayoha ning bataa," (We'll just meet in Gen Santos City. Let's see coz this kid is really good), said Salud.
