DAVAO CITY – International Master Oliver Dimakiling ruled the 2nd JSupt. Ericley Louise D. Lazaro Warden’s Open Rapid Chess tournament last April 13 at the SM City Davao in Ecoland Drive.
The 43-year-old Dimakiling beat NM Henry Roger Lopez, a member of the national Paralympics chess team, in the final 7th round for a total of 6 ½ points.

He earned P30,000 and a trophy.

Dimakiling, who was ranked no. 1, slowly played in the first round with a draw against no. 42 rank Yreil Josh Hernani of Davao.
