WCM Jia-Tien Chua rules Penang Rapid Mini Chess Tournament 2024

Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia---Woman Candidate Master Jia-Tien Chua emerged as the champion in the Rapid Mini Chess Tournament 2024 at the Chung Shan Primary School in Penang, Malaysia on Saturday.
WCM Jia-Tien of Malaysia pocketed the top purse for ruling the 10 minutes plus 5 seconds increment time control format with 4.5 points, hosted by Madam InHooi Teh of Penang Chess Association.
The second to 10th placers were Maximiliano Marrhuimawan of Indonesia, Wei Yang Lim of Malaysia, Lai Hong Jun of Malaysia, Nathanael Dieudonne B Simanihuruk of Indonesia, Ferris Lim of Malaysia , Shu Heng Ng of Malaysia , Yu Hoang Koay of Malaysia, Isaac Tee of Malaysia , and Leong Kai Shen of Malaysia.
It shall be recalled that WCM Jia-Tien is fresh from winning the top lady award in the just ended 4th Mini Penang Chess Open 2024 last Friday at the St. Xavier's Institution.
FM Yu Tian Poh of Malaysia won the FIDE Standard tournament with perfect record of 9.0 points in nine outings.-Marlon Bernardino-
