Crawford-Spence Post Fight Press Conference

PhilBoxing.com

T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas —

Spence was interviewed first. Regarding a rematch at 147lbs or 154lbs, Spence said he would be open to rematch probably at 154lbs but said he would speak to his management about what weight he would fight at again. Spence said he made no excuses for his loss to Crawford. One media member asked if Spence was confident the result would be different if given a rematch at 154lbs against Crawford. Spence said that the he was a lot better than how he fought tonight and the result would be different at 154lbs. Media asked Trainer James was there a point in the fight when he considered stopping the fight from the corner. James answered, "Not really because the Doctor was looking in on him".

After Crawford arrived he and Spence embraced graciously.

Crawford was asked if he would rematch with Spence. Crawford said he would rematch but it would be at 147lbs. Regarding Spence's power, Crawford said he felt his power but he knew he had more power. Another question regarding a rematch was, ‘Could Crawford get motivated to fight Spence again because he beat him with such ease?‘ Crawford said he takes no fighter lightly. When Crawford was asked if he would move up to 154 and even 160lbs, Crawford said that he will be 36 years old soon and he has been boxing since 7 years old. In the next 2 months he will have a clearer picture of what the future holds.

The press conference ended with Crawford being presented the Ring Magazine belt. Crawford dedicated the belt to ALL those who said he was too small and was not strong enough for the bigger Spence. Crawford is now 40-0, 31KOs. He is the unified WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF champion. He is on this writer's P4P list and no doubt other writer's P4P list the best fighter in boxing.
