Indian IM beats Labog

TAGAYTAY CITY---International Master Saha Neelash of India beat Filipino Eric Labog, Jr. on Monday (Nov. 21) in their fourth round match to figure in a 3-way for the lead in the Asian Juniors and Girls Chess Championships at the Knights Templar hotel in Tagaytay City.
Neelash and Harshavardhan G B of India and Gan-Erdene Sugar of Mongolia share the lead with 3.5 points after four rounds.
In the girls’ division, Woman International Master Ngoc Thuy Duong Bach of Vietnam beat third seed Amina Kairbekova of Kazakhstan while WIM Ravi Rakshitta of India beat compatriot WFM Patil Bhagyashree to share the lead with 3.5 points each after four rounds of the Asian Girls Chess Championship.
Close behind with 3 points each in the Juniors are Chatterjee Utsab of India and Tamadhan Dziththauly of Indonesia. Nine players follow with 2.5 points each, namely IM Ramesh Avinash and IM V.S. Raahuls of India, Michael Concio, Jr, Eric Labog Jr. and Christian Mark Daluz of the Philippines. Daniyal Sapenov of Kazakhstan, Dau Khuong Djuy of Vietnam and FM Arman Hakemi of Iran and Daniel Hermawan Luman Tobing of Indonesia.
Thirty two boys from eleven countries are competing the junior division while 20 players are participating in the 9-round Swiss system tournament among the girls. The championship is organized by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines on behalf of the Asian Chess Federation.
In the girls division, Woman International Masters Assel Serikbay and Nazerke Nurgali of Kazakhstan and WFM Mitra Asgharzadeh of Iran are close behind the leaders with 3 points apiece. Three players follow with 2.5 points each, namely WIM Amina Kairbekova of Kazakhstan, Chelladurai Femil of India and WFM Anahita Zahedifar of Iran.-Marlon Bernardino-
