DILG backs the staging of Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez National Inter Provinces, Cities and Municipalities Chess Team Championship

MANILA---Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) headed by its' Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" de Castro Abalos Jr. is throwing its full support behind the staging of Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez Masskara Festival National Inter Provinces, Cities and Municipalities Chess Team Championship on October 12 to 16, 2022 to held at the Forest Park Resort in Bacolod City.
The event is a joint project by the City of Bacolod and the National Chess Federation of the Philippines under the auspices and endorsed by the Department of Interior and Local Government in cooperation with the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation, Bacolod City Tourism Office, Bacolod City Information Office, Bacolod City Health Office and the Bacolod Chessplayers Association.
The chessfest is a team competition composed of 5 players with an average FIDE rating of 2250 and is sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines(NCFP) and the Federation Internationale Des Echecs (FIDE) and is supported by the Philippine Arbiters Chess Confederation.
