Heno wants to challenge Ioka for WBO super flyweight title
By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Sat, 13 Aug 2022

NEWLY crowned Boxing Worldwide Organization (BWO) Asia bantamweight champion Edward Heno of Paranaque City now wants to challenge reigning WBO super flyweight champion Kazato Ioka of Japan.
“I want to avenge Palicte and Nietes,” said Heno, whose nickname is “El Heneral Fighting Heno”.
Heno wants to avenge his two compatriots Aston “Mighty” Palicte of Bago City and Dionne “Ahas” Nietes of Bacolod City.
Palicte suffered a 10th round technical knockout last June 19, 2019 in Chiba City while Nietes lost by a unanimous decision last July 13, 2022 at Ota-City General Gymnasium.
Heno recently scored a unanimous decision in his comeback fight against former PBF super flyweight champion Renoel “Singwancha” Pael of Leyte last August 5, 2022 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The southpaw Heno is very thankful to his new manager Aljoe Jaro for giving another chance to become a champion.
“Thank you GOD for not neglecting me. Thank you also to my manager Sir Aljoe Jaro,” said Heno.
Heno received the golden BWO belt from BWO president Enoch Cruz and Vice President Mirlo de Castro from California, USA.
Heno now has a record of 15 wins, one loss, five draws with five knockouts. He said that he hopes that the support for him will continue.
Heno stopped fighting in 2019 after losing to Elwin Soto of Mexico by a unanimous decision for the WBO World light flyweight title last October 24 at Fantasy Spring Casino in Indio.
